About the Course

In this hour-long course, music therapists will learn basic counseling skills that they can easily integrate into their work with clients. In addition to learning these helpful skills, music therapists will identify when it is appropriate to utilize verbal interventions within their scope of practice, and how to ensure client safety when utilizing these counseling skills.

About Your Instructor - Genevieve Aucoin

Genevieve Aucoin, MA, MT-BC, NCC, LACMH is a board certified music therapist and mental health counselor. She holds a B.M. in music therapy from The University of Alabama, and dual masters degrees in Music Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Immaculata University. She is the owner of Eden Therapeutic Services, LLC, and has experience working with clients in a variety of settings, including private/ group practice, inpatient behavioral health, hospice and bereavement, inpatient medical, mobile therapy, behavior consulting, & more. She practices both music therapy and counseling from an existential-integrative perspective, which blends the best of humanistic therapy with evidence-based practices.
